Each day, an average of 120 people in Ireland hear the words, ‘you have cancer’.

All this weekend, Newstalk and the Irish Cancer Society are urging listeners to support cancer patients and their families by visiting the charity’s online Christmas shop.

You can fund life-changing cancer research and support services for patients by purchasing a limited edition Christmas Ornament – allowing you to hang your favourite picture on your tree. You can also purchase a Christmas Donation Card, by making a donation in honour of a loved one or in your own name.

Every night of the year, Irish Cancer Society Night Nurses are in homes across the country supporting patients and families affected by cancer.

Night Nurses provide in-home, end-of-life care for patients who are not going to survive their diagnosis so that the patient can spend their remaining days in the comfort of their own homes, surrounded by their loved ones.

Over the course of the pandemic, demand for the Society’s Night Nursing service has increased as more and more people choose to spend their final days at home.

By supporting the Irish Cancer Society this Christmas, you are helping to ensure the charity can continue to give the gift of support to families affected by cancer.
