The Government is to give people more information on holding small social events, such as weddings, in the next few weeks.
Heath Minister Simon Harris says he had been getting a lot of queries in relation to weddings.
Any such gatherings could be allowed under stage four of the Government's Roadmap for Reopening plan, which is set for July 20th.
According to the guidelines, small social gatherings by family and close friends will be allowed - but are limited to a maximum number of attendees for a period of time where social distancing can be maintained.
But Minister Harris told Pat Kenny this timeline is dependent on everything else going to plan.
"What we are going to have to try and do now over the next couple of weeks is provide more clarity in relation to this.
"We're saying that you could have small social gatherings - be they small weddings, baptisms - people are asking what is small?
"Small is going to mean small - in other words 100 is not small, 80 or 90 is not small.
"We're talking about a very, very small gathering with close family and very close friends".
"I'm not getting in the space of telling people about their weddings and big life decisions... but I know a lot of people have decided to move weddings into the new year to be sure, to be sure - or towards the end of the year.
"But what we'll certainly be doing now over the next couple of weeks is trying to provide further clarity as to what a small wedding or a small social gathering might look like at that stage".
"But I have to say this - and I know it's not what people what to hear - nobody can guarantee where we're going to be in relation to this virus in the month of July or August".
