The National Public Health Emergency Team (NPHET) has recommended that all counties be moved to level coronavirus restrictions.

The Cabinet will meet later to discuss the advice.

Level five is the most severe option available in the Government's Living With COVID-19 plan.

A move to level five would be a significant escalation, as most of the country is currently only on level two restrictions.

Dublin and Donegal are the only two counties on level three.

At level 5, the public health risk means people will be asked to stay at home, except to exercise within five kilometres their home.

There will also be no gatherings other than small numbers at funerals and weddings.
