A man has been arrested and charged over a public order and assault incident in Co Roscommon.
It happened at around 9:55am on Thursday morning at a COVID-19 checkpoint at Muckmoyne in Boyle.
A car was stopped by Gardaí where enquiries were made about the movements of those in the car.
The man, aged in his 20s, refused to provide his details and refused to co-operate.
He then became aggressive and was advised to move from the area under the Public Order Act.
The man refused and was arrested as a result.
While being transported to Castlerea Garda station he began spitting in the direction of a Garda member.
He is due to appear before a special sitting of Carrick on Shannon District Court later.
