In ‘Africa’s Great Green Wall of Hope’ Newstalk Presenter and Producer Susan Cahill travels to Senegal in West Africa to see how changing climate patterns – flash flooding and droughts are impacting on local food production, health and social systems in the Sahel. Susan meets with Farmers, Environmentalists, Economists, Politicians, Health Care Specialists and Human Rights Activists and asks how are they fighting the devastating affects of climate change? And are trees the solution? Susan travels to the visionary Great Green Wall of Africa – a Pan African 7,100 km long 15km wide wall of trees stretching from Dakar to Djibouti and critically assesses its potential to fight the devastating affects of climate change and variability.

‘Africa’s Great Green Wall of Hope’ asks: Can the Great Green Wall of Africa fight climate change and food poverty in the Sahel?
