Documentary produced by Lochlainn Harte
Located almost three hours from the nearest townland in remote Northern Tanzania lies Emboreet in the Simanjiro District. With the help of the SVD Missionaries and a partnership with Athenry since 2005 this dusty village is now home to a school, a medical centre, a good water supply, large prosperous maize farms and two functioning Ambulances.
Lochlainn Harte travelled to this region to document not only the ongoing work of the partnership but also to delve into the history of why this location has touched the heart of so many Irish volunteers and benefactors. He speaks to Fr Peter Pinto from India who is currently overseeing the life saving work in Emboreet, alongside Fr Eusabio Manangbao from the Phillipines who is the founder of this great partnership.
Doctors, teachers and visiting volunteers from Ireland all contribute to this colorful and sometimes traumatic view of life in the bush of Tanzania.
