Broadcasting on Newstalk 106-108fm on Saturday 19th November at 7am / 10pm
Launching our winter season of Documentary on Newstalk, PPI-nominated producer Brian Gallagher brings us Park People, a documentary that celebrates the diverse and colorful range of people that live, work and play in Dublin’s Phoenix Park.
From a private tour of his residence with the US Ambassador, to a look behind the scenes with the Director of Dublin Zoo, Park People takes the listener on a fascinating journey around the national treasure that is the Phoenix Park.
Featuring Polo players and nuns at Mount Sackville, guides at Áras an Uachtaráin and kids visiting the zoo, map makers, bicycle renters and Gardai in the Depot – the Phoenix Park has room for them all, and one by one they tell their stories in Park People.
Park People features interviews with a wide range of people involved in the sometimes surprising activities associated with Phoenix Park. The programme explores the wealth of heritage that exists on the capital’s doorstep, and the lives of those who work and work there, as well as those whose leisure hours are centred on the park.
Park People will be broadcast on Newstalk 106-108fm on Saturday 19th November at 7am, and again at 10pm
