This weekend, to launch our Winter Season of Drama on Newstalk, Maccana Teoranta productions bring us a brand new radio play: COMA.

In an original radio drama, writers Kevin McCann and Peter Murphy pull back the curtain to reveal a community with secrets…

A young girl next door confesses to becoming a school bully;

A once-popular priest seeks forgiveness;

A doctor defends her high status;

A butcher reveals his treatment of his family;

A best friend reveals his plan to once again get out of trouble;

A psychiatric patient with a new lease of life speaks some home truths;

A football manager absolves himself from years of guilt;

A loyal girlfriend reveals that she has been tempted by infidelity;

A father apologises to his son for neglecting him;

A mother of a coma victim whispers her secret in his ear;

As daily visitors to a coma victim quietly tell him their innermost thoughts and all the goings-on of an Irish town, Coma journeys through 10 inner dramas from 5 Irish women and 5 Irish men, revealing their characters and inner conflicts.

COMA will be broadcast on Newstalk 106-108fm this weekend, Saturday 22nd November at 7am, and repeated at 10am on Sunday 23rd November.
