“Duet” is a gripping radio drama about the complex relationship between psychiatrist Dr Clare Bradley and her patient, Bill O’Donaghue, an intelligent but disturbed man found sitting in a darkened room listening over and over to songs from old musicals.
Unexpected shifts occur in the balance of power between the two main characters, with verbal sparring and outright conflict interspersed with genuine bonding as Clare tries to get to the root of Bill’s unusual condition.
Under pressure from her boss, Clare tries to strike a balance between forcing the pace and keeping her patient’s trust, and issues regarding family, gender, and their own doctor-patient relationship are explored, as Clare finally - and dramatically - discovers the true nature of Bill’s problems.
‘Duet’ will be broadcast on Newstalk 106-108fm this weekend, Saturday 4th October at 7am, and Repeated at 10am on Sunday 5th October.
