This is his second time living in the states, having spent 16 years living and working there and becoming a citizen before leaving for the promise of the doomed Celtic Tiger. Seeking the ‘good life’ again, he tries to pick up where he left off with the same life of working hard and playing hard with his old caste of Irish drinking buddies and a former girlfriend.
After initially revelling in his new live John soon start feeling unsettled again and suffers a blow when his good friend Gerry dies suddenly from alcohol and drug abuse. With all parties advising him in different directions, John must decide if he should stay in a steady job he hates, or give a new business venture in Ireland a chance – and in doing so finally put down roots in USA or Ireland.
