Down to Business is back on the road, we're Winning Back the High Street in Westport. For once this title is kind of misleading - because the high street in this exceptional town never died.

You can get involved and join in the conversation on Twitter, with the hashtag #DTBWestport.

We're live from 10am tomorrow morning and asking the question - how did Westport get things so right?

Coming up:

  • It would be rude to go to Mayo, and not to catch up with an Taoiseach, Enda Kenny. He will be talking Mayo and much more. We might even get his tip for the Connaught Final on Sunday!
  • We speak to Town Architect Simon Wall and Town Manager Martin Keating as well as Dermott Langan Tourism and Enterprise officer for Westport, who have all contributed to making Westport one of Ireland's most popular towns.
  • I have a special report from the Greenway cycle trail; me and the team are cycling the 42km route from Achill to Westport and talking to locals along the way.
  • At 11 we take a detailed look at tourism in Westport and also some of the more unique businesses working around Westport. We speak to Biddy Hughes from Westport House, Ciaran Collins from Adventure Island and Killian Moran from Mescan Craft Beer who set up a new local brewery on the slopes of Croagh Patrick
  • Liam Horan former-journalist and and now Managing Director of Sli Nua Careers LTD one of Ireland's leading career training agencies will be reviewing the papers.
  • I'll chat with author Terry Reilly who wrote 'On a Wing and a Prayer' all about Monseniuer Jame Horan who somehow managed to build an airport in Knock.
  • Then we speak to the TD Michael Ring about his Mayo life and times.
  • In our Executive chair we speak to Owen Hughes from Portwest which is a family business that now employs over 2,000 people worldwide but started as a drapery shop in Westport at the beginning of the last century.
  • To play us out we are joined by Des Cafferky acclaimed tin whistle and flute and player musical director of the Clew Bay Pipe Band. He has performed with artists as diverse as Mundy and Sister Sledge - he'll give us some trad with a twist.

We're live from 10am tomorrow, and you can follow the action and get involved with the hashtag #DTBWestport.

As ever, you can find my blog posts and weekly DTB highlights on our show page.
