We're back from Germany, and back in business - live from our summer starting time of 10am - here's what we have in store!

  • We start the show with Motivational Speaker and Buisnessman Padraig O’Maille and learn all about his new book ‘Rock Horse Sh*t: The Ultimate Problem Solving Manual’. Padraig was confronted with a health scare and tried to apply some of the lessons of that experience into a manual for business people.
  • Then we speak to Barry Brophy from the communications department in UCD on how to ‘not’ to give awful presentations.

  • It's estimated that 140,000 foreign visitors will dock in Ireland from cruise ships this year. It's a massive market and it's getting even bigger. So courtesy of Fred Olsen and Cruisescapes 6 lucky Newstalk listeners and myself headed down to Dublin Port to request permission to come aboard; you can hear it all...
  • We then speak to bagel entrepreneur, Peaches Kemp from ‘Itsa’ on how you have to innovate if you want to stay alive in Irish business.
  • Our Industry Focus is all about Design this week. We are  joined by three of Ireland’s most creative people, Barry Sheehan who is Head of Design in DIT, fashion designer Sonya Lennon who is co founder of Lennon Courtney and Brian Stephens who is the Managing Director of Design Partners.
  • Then we speak to the author of a fascinating book. Richard Dobbs is a director of the McKinsey Global Institute and has just co-authored  ‘No Ordinary Disruption: The Four Global Forces Breaking All the Trends’ . So for instance did you know by 2025, a single regional city in China—Tianjin—will have a GDP equal to that of Sweden.
  • In our Executive Chair Executive Chair, Brian Kavanagh of Horse Racing Ireland joins us.

We're live from our new time of 10am tomorrow, and you can follow the action with the hashtag #NTDTB.

As ever, you can find my blog posts and weekly DTB highlights on our show page.
