Here's what's happening:
  • Rural Crime- We kick things off with a very frank and lively chat about Rural Crime recorded at the Ploughing. We heard from TD Michael Healy Rae, Crime Journalist Paul Williams and James Claffey of Irish Rural Link.

Here's a taste of what we saw:

  • Venture Capital- Back in Dublin in the run up to the final of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award we begin a short series where we look at some of the issues facing entrepreneurs. This week we look at the issue of Venture Capital and how to get it! We’re joined by Alan Coleman of Brite:Bill , Will Prendergast of Frontline VC  and Sean Duffy Programme Director of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year.
  • Then back to the Ploughing - We take a detailed look at the business future of Rural Ireland and ask is Ireland a Two-Tier Society. We’re joined by Ann Phelan Minister of State, Minister of State with Responsibility for Rural Affairs and Rural Transport and Labour TD for Carlow/Kilkenny, Brian Maher a town Planner and Senior Planner at GVA PlanningFarmer Tom Doyle - Chairman  of the IFA Farm Business Committee and also Sean Finan President of Macra Na Feirme.
  • We look at Oil Prices - Why are we still paying so much at the pumps if Oil prices are dropping?
  • Business Person of the Month - This month the category is Fast Food/Food Delivery and our winner is Brody Sweeney of Camille Thai Kitchen and formerly O’Briens Irish Sandwich Bars.

All this and lots more besides on Down to Business from 10am until midday tomorrow morning on Newstalk 106-108fm, and Newstalk.com.
