Down to Business is back in the studio after last week's adventures in Waterford, as ever we're covering all things business.

Here's what we have ready to go:

• First up, we'll look at the stories that are making an impact in the business pages and the front pages of Saturday's papers - joining us will be comedian and communications consultant Alan Shortt.
  

• Four years ago a UCD professor and his student won €10,000 for their medical research. Instead of investing the money in Ireland, the two men booked themselves business flights to the US to try and pitch their ideas to some of the largest companies in the world.

  Fast forward four years and the company now has a brand new HQ in Cherrywood which takes them from 100sq ft in UCD to 60,000 square feet - with the announcement of 100 new jobs to boot.

  To discuss their meteoric rise, I will be joined by Mark Barrett who is the CEO and founder of APC.

• We meet Dr Robert Kelly of Videodoc Ireland who is one of the finalists in this year’s SFA Small Business Awards. The company provides medical consultations through video streams.

• In our Motoring Mailbag, with thanks to Toyota, motoring correspondent Geraldine Herbert will answer your car-related questions.

• Is the running industry feeling the effects of Ireland's fitness boom? We look at running and endurance events for this week’s Industry Review.

  Jim Aughney who is Race Director of Dublin Marathon, Declan Byrne who is director of Titan who operates the Rock n' Roll Half Marathon and the Samsung Night Run and by David Burns who is race director of 24-hour endurance event The Race.

• Tech Expert Andy O’Donoghue talks technology.

• Henry Beeby of Goffs is our Business Person of the Month - he'll tell us about the thrill of selling horses at auction for millions of euro.
