All of the candles are made from 100% natural plant waxes and are hand poured at their premises on the grounds of their family home in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow. The range was named after the brothers' twin nephews Max and Benjamin.
The Max Benjamin brand has grown extensively and features 20 different fragrances. As well as candles the range also includes fragrance diffusers and hand & body washes and lotions. Last year they introduced a range of tea fragrance candles and this year they are planning to launch a range of coffee fragranced candles. The company also creates bespoke products for companies e.g. the Gold Collection range is exclusive to Brown Thomas in Ireland and they have created a special in flight gift set for for Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada and US Airways.
Max Benjamin are enjoying great success in Ireland and abroad with sales up 25% on the first quarter of 2014. They are stocked in all of the leading retailers in Ireland including Brown Thomas, Arnotts, House of Fraser, Avoca, Kilkenny, Meadows & Byrne, Carraig Donn and gift shops throughout the country.
The export market is growing all the time and Max Benjamin products are now sold in the UK, Germany, Italy, Austria, Benelux, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Middle East and China.
In order to cope with increasing demand Max Benjamin recently expanded its premises in Enniskerry which includes a showroom, a factory for pouring candles and fragrance testing rooms.
