Famelab is back! The international science and technology communication competition returns for another year and Futureproof are delighted to be partnering the British Council once again.
If you missed it last year, Famelab is the X Factor for scientists. Pick a scientific idea, stand up on stage and deliver it in a way that entertains and informs. Last year 23 different countries took part and on our very first entry, Fergus McAuliffe from UCC won the whole thing. He has since appeared on national television and given his own TEDx talk.
It's a great initiative for anyone in the STEM arena to get hands-on experience of science communication as well as having the opportunity to win great prizes, a sci-comms masterclass and, if they go far enough, an all-expenses paid trip to the Cheltenham Science Festival.
Anyone can apply: researchers, teachers or students, the aim is to get Ireland's scientific community out there and spreading the word. We'd really like to see a lot of applications this year, so if it sounds like your kind of thing, check out www.britishcouncil.ie/famelab to apply. Either way, we’d love you to spread the word as there’s only one month left to apply, so tweet, share or yell it out the window, we can’t wait to see what comes back!
Great! You’ve convinced me. Now how do I take part?
