This week on Futureproof you can hear some of our best bits from during the year. We speak to Adrian Raine about ‘The Anatomy of Violence' and the link between biology of criminality. The British psychologist is noted for his research on the neurobiological and bio-social causes of antisocial and violent behaviour in children and adults. Do you know that children of mothers who smoke are 2 to 3 three times more likely to be a violent offender?

You’ll also get to hear the amazing story of the world’s longest and slowest experiment that took place in Trinity College earlier this year.

We’ll also be telling you if you have ‘synaesthesia’. That’s a neurological condition which allows people to transform simple sounds into colour displays, numbers into tastes and even smells into beautiful visual images. To hear more about the fascinating condition of synaesthesia from Trinity’s resident expert Fiona Newell tune in to this week’s show.

Irish Comedian Dara O’Briain is becoming equally well-known for his thoughts on science as he is for his comedy routines. We caught up with him earlier this year at the Cheltenham Science Festival. He’s a great communicator of science as can be seen from his brief history of physics below…

Futureproof airs every Saturday from 10am on Newstalk.
