Sinn Féin leader Mary Lou McDonald has topped the poll in Dublin Central with 11,223 votes.
She almost doubled the quota in the constituency and was the 12th Sinn Féin TD elected to the 33rd Dáil.
Finance Minister Paschal Donohoe was well short of the 6,288 quota with 4,181 votes.
Neasa Hourigan of the Green Party came in third with 3,851 votes, followed by Fianna Fáil's Mary Fitzpatrick with 3,228.

The 33rd Dáil is beginning to take shape, with Sinn Féin leading the way.
Paul Donnelly was elected after the first count in Dublin West, topping the poll ahead of Taoiseach Leo Varadkar.
He received 12,456 votes, ahead of the Fine Gael leader who was just shy of the quota of 8,726 with 8,478 votes.
Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire was the first TD to be elected after he topped the poll in Cork South-Central.
Mr Ó Laoghaire well exceeded the quota with 14,057 votes after the first count.
Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin was just below the quota of 11,429 with 11,023 votes.
The Tánaiste Simon Coveney of Fine Gael is in third with 9,327 votes.
The party's housing spokesperson Eoin O'Broin was elected in Dublin Midwest.
Speaking earlier, Ms McDonald has said that the country needs a new government that does not involve either Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil.
She said: "It seems the political establishment are still in a state of denial, they're still not listening to the people.
"I want us to have a government for the people, ideally without Fine Gael or Fianna Fáil in it."
