Sinn Féin candidate Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire is the first TD to be elected in the General Election after he topped the poll in the Cork South-Central constituency.

Mr Ó Laoghaire, who was first elected in 2016, received 14,057 votes.

This was well above the quota of 11,429.

After the first vote, Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin is in second place with 11,023 votes.

The Tánaiste Simon Coveney of Fine Gael is in third with 9,327 votes.

Fianna Fáil's Finance Spokesperson is closely following in fourth place with 9,236 votes.

If these four are elected, then the make-up in the four-seat constituency would remain as it was.

The Green Party's Lorna Bogue is in fifth place with 5,379 votes after the first count.
