Former Waterford player Stephen Molumphy is in line to become Kerry's next senior hurling manager.
The 2007 All-Star is the preferred candidate of the Kingdom's County Board to succeed Fintan O'Connor and he'll be put forward for ratification later this month.
Kerry lost out to Westmeath in this summer's Joe McDonagh Cup final and also missed out on promotion in Division Two of the League.
It'll be Molumphy's first senior inter-county management role, having been a selector to Davy Fitzgerald at Wexford in 2019 and with Liam Cahill in Waterford in 2020.
"Kerry GAA are delighted to announce that we will be proposing Stephen Molumphy as the new Kerry senior hurling Manager for a two year period (2022/2023) to the County Committee for ratification later this month," Kerry announced in a statement.
"Comdt Stephen Molumphy is a native of Waterford and now lives in Ballyduff Upper, Co. Waterford. He joined the Defence Forces in 2002 and served in a number of different units at home and overseas.
"He was selector and coach with Wexford senior hurlers in 2019 and Waterford senior hurlers in 2020. He was also manager of the Irish Defence Forces hurling team 2018-2019. Stephen's selectors/coaches include Pat Bennett and Shane Briggs.
