Wexford town has banished 1 and 2 cent coins until November 17th. The pilot Central Bank scheme could be rolled out across the country in time.
The Wexford Rounding Trial will mean if you pay in cash, the total bill of your shop will be rounded up or down to the nearest 5 cents. I visited shoppers in Wexford town to see how they were getting on without 1 and 2 cent coins.

Rounding won't affect if you pay for things by credit or debit cards.
