A decade ago, according to a study by insurers Aviva, GPs believed 15 per cent of their patients self-diagnosed before a consultation. Now 44 per cent of patients admit doing this, as people try and get a quick diagnosis over the internet. Ben Hatch is the world’s worst hypochondriac.
