Clos Du Val is a class leading Californian wineriery, but without the totaly insane pricing.  Clos Du Val is French owned, and has an interest in seeing its wines worldwide,so has categories of wines for general sale, beyond the usual Napa Icon idea of €200 a bottle wines for billionaires or industrial product from central valley. A super luscious style, glossy with tinned strawberry notes, touches of spice, caramel and a vanilla and toffee like finish. It is not for anyone interested in restraint, this is exuberant west coast immediacy. This is such a pleasure filled hedoniostic wine even to smell you can see why many Californians wanted to make it the State grape, even the State emblem.
