‘Much Loved’ is a collection of 65 photos of teddy bears taken by Mark Nixon, who is photographer based in Dublin.
His photos which were originally as part of an exhibition which became a viral sensation (his website got six million hits) and the concept is now being published in book format in the US.
It will be available in Ireland in the coming weeks.
A photo of his son Calum’s much loved teddy Peter Rabbit led photographer Mark Nixon to take many photos of teddies which hold a special meaning to their owners.
Mark explains how the project took off: “I noticed how much Calum loved his teddy, squeezing him and shoving him in his face that I just wanted to capture that.”
Teddies arrived into Mark's studio from all over the world but it is mostly Irish teddies that feature in the book.
Amongst the teddies which feature in the book were cuddly pals sent by Bono’s wife Ali Hewson, Rowan Atkinson and the late Gerry Ryan.
