Ok, maybe not Dragon's, but 160 million years the earths skies were filled will giant reptiles known as "pterosaurs".

Despite 220 years of study, flying reptiles have received little attention from the popular press, and have always been seen as the lesser cousins of The Dinosaurs.

But these giants of the skies, were the rulers of the air for 160 million, had 130 known, sub species, and could grow to the size of a Giraffe!

So what do we know about these real life Dragons, and why have they been forgotten by popular culture…

Mark Witton, is a Palaeontologist at the University of Portsmouth, and he has just finished writing a new book on the subject "Pterosaurs: Natural History, Evolution, Anatomy".

In the book Mark hopes to put these flying reptiles back on the map, and maybe even bring these "Dragons back to Life".

And Mark will be speaking about his book on the Moncrieff show, this afternoon, from 1:30 - 4:30pm
