UK police warn of clown epidemic after spate of red-nose run-ins
According to a report in The Metro, a member of the public contacted police after being spooked by a person wearing a full clown outfit with a red wig in Gaywood, Norfolk earlier this week.
Superintendent Carl Edwards from the town advised people to ignore the clowns and not to give them the attention they’re looking for.
They've just issued a warning to the public to ignore people dressed as clowns if they meet them in the street.
Two separate incidents have left people alarmed enough to contact police, with both 'victims' saying they were chased by the costumed characters.
The episodes have struck a particular chord because they come soon after a creepy clown in Northampton made headlines around the world and sparked other copycats
