A Crawley County Council worker was left dumbfounded after a man called to say he were being ‘harassed’ by a frog and needed help
The four-legged amphibian was apparently waiting at the bottom of the man’s stairs in town in West Sussex.
Instead of trying to battle the beast himself, he implored the council to dispatch pest control to his home.
‘We advised him it would probably hop off on its own, but he was adamant the frog was harassing him,’ a spokesman said.
This request was just one of a number of strange calls received by the Crawley borough council’s call centre.
The council also revealed it had been asked for money on several occasions, including a man who wanted cash to buy a rail ticket to a funeral.
