A royal collector has spend $1375 (£828) on a 33-year-old slice of British history - a piece of cake from the 1981 wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
It came still in its original white and silver presentation box, which is decorated with the monogram "CD"
It came with a card, which read: "With best wishes from Their Royal Highnesses, the Prince & Princess of Wales."
Sam Heller, spokesman for the auction house, said the cake came wrapped in its original wax paper but advised it wouldn't be a good idea to try to eat it.
He commented that there was a dedicated group of royal cake collectors out there.
