Mary Johnston has inexplicably become the 87th best tourist attraction in the city on TripAdvisor after somehow signing herself up as a destination for visitors rather than a user on the site.
It’s not certain how this happened, however, as TripAdvisor individually screens new attractions when they are submitted.
Although there are no details about Mary as an “attraction”, Trip Advisor’s automatically generated text asks: “Been to Mary Johnston? Share your experiences!”
The travel website also compares Mary - whose picture is sideways - with a number of “similar” attractions such as Bellahouston Park and Pollok Country Park.
Among the sights in Glasgow that Mary is ranked above are the 12,000-capacity arena the Hydro and, um, Templeton’s Carpet Factory.
It appears that the reviews that catapulted Ms Johnston to a small manner of internet fame have been deleted, but some exist for posterity on Twitter.
Ms Johnston told the Scotsman she had asked TripAdvisor to remove the post.
‘I didn’t set it up. It must be a bug in the system or it is malicious,’ she said.
‘I’m already a user and I went on recently to review somewhere in Amsterdam so it may have happened then.
She added: ‘At least it is a good picture of me.’
