Family pet Lux causes problems for his owners  Lee Palmer and Teresa Barker, after hurting their 7-month-old child and trapping them in their own home.

Lee and Teresa were holed up in their Portland bedroom Sunday after bad mog Lux scratched their 7-month-old child in the face before seriously freaking out.

Even their pet dog fled to safety, terrified that the kitty would cause further damage.

Phoning for help at 7:55 p.m., Palmer told dispatchers the cat had attacked their child and was now trying to force its way into their room.

"I kicked him in the rear and he just went off, over the edge," Palmer said.

"We are not safe around the cat. We're trapped in the bedroom. He won't let us out of the door," he added.

With the black-and-white Himalayan screeching in the background, he warned cops to be on their guard if they stormed the property.

The owners have confirmed however that they are not giving up on their pet and are getting it medical attention and therapy.

A pet psychologist  is due at the house to see the cat and discuss how to help the family.
