A woman who crashed her car in Taranaki, New Zealand told emergency services to leave her alone because she was Kate Middleton.

The 44-year-old rolled her car after speeding the wrong way down a one-way street and refused to let emergency services help her after she crashed.

"She thinks she's Kate Middleton. She was saying: 'You can't touch me because I'm royal'" said Police Senior Constable Grant Kennard.

According to Kennard, the woman was mentally unwell. She was reportedly driving more than 50 mph in the wrong direction on the one-way street. The woman, who wasn’t injured in the crash, was weaving in and out of her lane before rolling her ride.
