Last week, a disgruntled listener got in touch with the Moncrieff show to lament the fact that a lot of presenters slag off Mullingar.

Alan claims whenever the town is mentioned it's in a negative way:

"Sean I was just wondering what does Newstalk have against Mullingar. Every time, and I mean every time, I have heard Mullingar being mentioned it's described as a kip or getting out of it as soon as possible. It's not just your show, I've heard the same thing on Off The Ball, the Right Hook and Chris and Ivan's show. I'd love to know what we have done to earn this reputation in Newstalk and is there anything we can do to change it? - Alan, Mullingar"

So do we need to show Mullingar more love? What is so great about it (One Direction-ers need not answer that one)? Are there worse towns in Ireland?
