Lopez de Haro Rose Rioja, Spain €16.99
Mick describes it as rich and rounded style of rose with strawberries and cream aromas from the famous Rioja region
Varieties: Garnacha and Viura. Harvested during the entire month of october. Hand picked.
Vineyard: A selection of old Tempranillo vineyards with low production, settled on poor land of Ebro's terraces in the area of San Vicente de la Sonsierra (La Rioja).
Winemaking
Maceration between 24 and 48 hours at low temperatures, around 10C. Subsequently, the devatting process is carried out, extracting a bright and rosé coloured must in a natural way and that ferments between 10-12C for 20 days.
Alcohol content: 12,5% Vol
Tasting notes
Colour: Clean pale pink.
Nose: Intense wine, highlighting red fruits and banana aromas as well as featuring some floral notes.
Palate: Silky and pleasant wine with great balance, resulting at the same time greedy and fresh
Masi Rose from Veneto, Italy €17.99
Mick says it's bright, crisp and fresh with cranberry and raspberry aromas from the famous Amarone producer Masi
Masi describe it as a "fresh and fruity rosé wine, but complex and elegant at the same time. A new interpretation of the rosé wine category thanks to the use of Masi's speciality Appassimento technique."
This wine is a Super venetian, and a "brother" to Campofiorin, the famous red wine. Grape variety is Refosco
Tasting notes
Salmon pink with cherry-coloured reflections with intense aromas of just ripened berry fruit on the nose, especially raspberries and wild cherries. Soft and well balanced with lively and refreshing acidity. Long and attractive finish.
Food pairing
Excellent as an aperitif and with antipasti, light pasta dishes, shellfish and seafood.Serving temperature 10° C. Alcoholic content 12,5% vol. Storage life 2 years
