A man is in Garda custody after a young woman was killed in a stabbing in Kilkenny city last night.
The 28-year-old victim was attacked in the shop where she worked in the Market Cross centre at about half past eight.
She was rushed to St Luke's Hospital - but was pronounced dead a short time later.
A 27-year-old man was arrested after a Garda search of the area - he's being questioned at Kilkenny Garda Station.

The government will today publish the report which forced Alan Shatter to resign as Minister for Justice.
The 300-page Guerin document will outline how the Garda Ombudsman, Department of Justice and Minister for Justice failed to investigate allegations of Garda misconduct.
The government's expected to set up a full independent Commission of Inquiry into how the claims were handled.
