Two girls from Canada, who sent a message in a bottle to Ireland, have been invited to visit here for The Gathering 2013.

Charlaine Dalpé and Claudia Garneau sent the message from Quebec in 2004 when they were 12 and it was found by schoolboy Oisín Millea in Passage East, Co Waterford this week.

Tourism Ireland says it’s publicity you just can’t buy, after the story was covered by Canadian media.
