'Phlok' has announced it's creating 100 new jobs over the next 18 months. The company runs a social network where you can shop and connect with friends.
The new web and smartphone platform incentivises consumers with virtual currency called Phlok points, that are collectable and spendable with any business on the Phlok network.
Its founders say the concept works on the basis that customers are promoting businesses when collecting their Phlok points, something they say can become 'quite addictive'.
Phlok's 300 clients include the McCabes Pharmacy Group, The Wright Group, Carry Out Off Licences. Phlok is availble to all businesses throught the island of Ireland.
The network's already witnessed in excess of €200,000 worth of sales and over 10,000,000 social media impressions.
The new positions will be available right across the country in areas such as software development, sales, training and account management.
Phlok was launched 6 months ago by Belfast man Paul Graham (43), who previously founded Clarity Telecom, an Irish IP Telephone Company.
Paul says, “Phlok is becoming an additional integral element of the business to business and business to consumer economy. Our overall aim is to get local customers to transact more often with local business and support an ongoing vibrant community. Phlok makes the term ‘Shop Local’ make sense".
