100 new IT jobs are on the way for Cork as SolarWinds expands its European operations in the city thanks to a series of investments.

The company, which already employs 150 people in the Mahon area of Cork, is expected to announce up to 100 more this morning.

Another 100 jobs are also expected to be announced in Fethard County Tipperary, at ribs and cooked meats providers Ribworld. 

The announcements coincide with the launch of a 70 million dollar transatlantic investment fund, called 'Smart-Invest'.

It is hoped the announcement will lead to the creation of another 450 jobs in other counties, by helping Irish companies expand into the US, and for American companies to set up bases here.
