There’s been an 11 percent increase in the number of people requesting the help of the Rape Crisis Centre.

It’s latest report shows that survivors of sexual violence accounted for 91 per cent of those attending its 15 centres nationwide in 2011.

The remaining 9 percent were people who were supporting someone who had been subjected to sexual violence.

The Rape Crisis Centres is calling on the Health Minister to ensure they are protected from further cuts in the December budget with year on year increases in demand for their services.
