An 11-year-old Irish actress is to star as Matilda in a new film adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl story.
Alisha Weir from Dublin will play the title role in the Netflix film, which is based on the stage musical.
She'll star alongside Oscar-winner Emma Thompson as Miss Trunchbull, and Lashana Lynch as Miss Honey.
Alisha has previously had a role in the drama series Darklands, and has also appeared as a singer on the likes of The Late Late Toy Show.

While Matilda has previously been adapted as a 1996 film (starring Mara Wilson in the lead role), the new version will be based on the hit musical which premiered in 2010.
It features original sings and music from composer and comedian Tim Minchin, and has enjoyed successful West End and Broadway runs.
The film's director Matthew Warchus said: "Matilda will be an imaginative and fresh retelling of the award-winning musical, Matilda, featuring talented young newcomers, alongside established stars.
"I look forward to introducing this beloved and powerful story to a new generation of fans around the world."
No release date for the film has been announced, but it's set to be premiere in cinemas as well as Netflix.
