There is good news on the jobs front this morning with 150 jobs to be created in Dublin and Cork.
80 new positions will come on-stream with the opening of a new distillery by Teelings Whiskey Company in The Liberties in Dublin.
This will be the first new distillery in Dublin in over 125 years. It will start production in the fourth quarter of 2014, with a visitor centre set to open in early 2015.
The proposed new Pot Still distillery will have the capacity to produce 500,000 litres of whiskey on an annual basis and will consist of three traditional copper Pot Stills reviving the traditional style of the old Dublin distilleries.
It will see the firm investing €10 million into The Liberties area of the city. The Teeling Whiskey brand is on sale in over 18 export markets.
The proposed new Pot Still distillery will have the capacity to produce 500,000 litres of whiskey a year.
While 40 positions have been created by IBM in the west of the capital at their new campus at Damastown. These will be at the IBM Technology Campus in Mulhuddart.
The jobs wil be in the areas of finance, administration and project management.
The company's Michelle Ginther says they are looking for a wide range of people.
And in Cork, the digital research company Global Reviews have announced 30 new positions with the establishment of its European headquarters in Ireland. The positions will come on-stream there over the next two years.
