A search at Dublin Port has led to the seizure of 116 puppies from two vehicles bound for Britain.

The puppies are estimated to be aged from as young as five weeks up to eight weeks and include a variety of small breeds.

None of the dogs had the required Pet Passport.

They were seized by DSPCA Inspectors last night with the assistance of Customs and the Gardai.
