13 civilians have reportedly died in a missile attack by the Syrian army on a rebel-held neighbourhood in the northern city of Aleppo.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the number of dead could rise as rescuers sift through the rubble of a five-storey building that collapsed in the attack.

The attack follows groundbreaking talks yesterday between the Russian Foreign Minister and the Syrian opposition leader after which it was hoped an end could be brought to the conflict in Syria.
