Iraqi officials have said that 20 people have been killed and 50 wounded after mortar rounds hit a residential area south of Baghdad.
The attack is reported to have taken place in Musayib, a former insurgent stronghold, about 60 kilometers south of the capital.
A police officer and two medical officials say five mortars hit a market, a residential building and a parking lot.

This is the latest in a spate of violent attacks in the country.
