160 people are to lose their jobs after a meat product company was put into receivership this morning.
Staff at 3 branches of sausage maker Olhausen have been told that the company has ceased trading without notice.
The offices are located in Dublin and Monaghan.
Receivers at accountancy firm BDO have been appointed to the company by Ulster Bank.
Union SIPTU says discussions are continuing with them over the payment of outstanding wages and redundancy terms for the workers at the plants in Blanchardstown, Coolock and Monaghan.
Olhausen was set-up originally as a retail butcher shop back in 1896 at Talbot Street in Dublin.
It evolved through organic growth, merger and acquisition.
Distribution is centralised in Blanchardstown but supported by hubs in Cork and Galway.
It says overseas markets are covered by a network of distributors.
