Speeding fines and penalty points issued to more than 1,800 drivers are being revoked.

It comes after GoSafe noticed an issue relating to a calibration certificate with a new speed camera on the N17 in County Mayo.

Gardaí are writing to motorists who were issued a fine and penalty points after being caught speeding by the camera between December 20th and February 12th.

They will be issued refunds and have those penalty points removed.

GoSafe has confirmed the issue has been resolved, and certificates for all other speed cameras are valid.
