The 1916 Easter Rising will be commemorated today at a special ceremony outside the GPO in Dublin.
The event, which gets underway at 12 noon, will be led by the President Michael D. Higgins, the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny and the Minister for Justice, Alan Shatter.
The Tricolour flag will be lowered and the President will lay a wreath to commemorate those who died in 1916.
