Dublin's Lord Mayor Christy Burke says he is waiting to hear whether an emergency plan will be put in place to prevent further flooding tonight.
Councillor Burke says the city was not prepared for the heavy downpours last night which led to houses being flooded on the North Strand.
Dublin City CouncilÂ’s flood risk assessment group has been meeting today to discuss the fallout.
Christy Burke says people are anxious:
Meanwhile, Gardai say two people being held in Ballymun Garda Station had to be evacuated this morning due to flooding.
The detainees were transferred from their cells to another garda station after flood water of up to 10 millimetres covered the floors in the station.
