Over a million euro worth of drugs has been seized in Drogheda, Co Louth.

Gardai targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the area made the seizure and arrested three men, following searches of two cars and an apartment.

In total cannabis herb, cannabis plants, cocaine and heroin with an estimated street value in excess of 1 million euro (pending analysis) was seized.

A 28 year old man is appearing before a Special Sitting of Ardee District Court this afternoon charged in connection with this seizure.

The two other men are in custody at Drogheda Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act.
