Two women have been threatened at knifepoint during an aggravated burglary at their home in Cork.

Three intruders forced their way into a house in the Mahon area at 11:20 last night.

They tied up the two women inside and escaped with an amount of cash.

The women managed to free themselves and raise the alarm - they were uninjured during their ordeal.

A garda investigation is continuing, and no arrests have been made.
