A 23-year-old woman has been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of a man in West Dublin.

Fitness instructor John Gibson was shot a number of times at Fortunestown Lane in Tallaght on September 18th 2017.

The 28-year-old father-of-two was pronounced dead at the scene.

Gardaí have been investigating whether the death was connected to a local feud.

The woman who was arrested last night is being held at Tallaght Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 – Offences Against the State Act 1939

Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man - who was arrested on Monday in connection with the shooting - has been released without charge.

Gardaí say a file is being prepared for the DPP.
